Buckner adds class and punch wherever he plays? I find that commentary to be a sort of dig at Buckner, pointing out that he's moved from team to team quite a bit. That's kid of stupid given that in 1988 he joined only his 4th team in 20 seasons.
I didn't see it as a dig. However, he had started to move around at the end of his career, like a lot of guys do, going from the Cubs to the BoSox in '84, to the Angels in '87 and the Royals in '88. The statement is correct. Buckner had a lot of class and, while he was never a home run hitter, he had good gap power.
